New Choices-New Minds is a nonprofit that provides connections, collaborating, networking, coaching, and training to individuals, families, and communities. Offering resources for the benefit of individuals, families, businesses, and communities.
Our Vision
Through networking, New Choices-New Minds connect with people who want to change the community, find the resources they need to do it, and are dedicated to improving the lives of people to reach their dreams and goals. To provide information to make smart decisions, build connections, and learn from each other to achieve the mission/goal.
Dr. Brenda Smith is an Adjunct Professor at Hampton University and also has been employed with the federal government-Department of the Army for over 36 years. Since March 1998, she holds the position of Security Assistance Training Program Manager. 2019 Dean's list from University College, Hampton University and 2018 ACHI Educator of the Year. Currently, she has her own nonprofit as a Resource Coach, New Choices-New Minds, Inc. Dr. Smith is an ACHI Member and member of several education and support groups.
New Choices-New Minds feeds the homeless community, and provides clothing, underwear, socks, toiletries, and other essential items. The organization provides individuals, families, and under-served and marginalized community members with connections to services, resources, education, training, coaching, collaborating, networking opportunities, grants, and financial workshops. Additionally, NCNM offers various opportunities to learn about Financial literacy, Grant Writing, and Networking. These learning opportunities allow NCNM to impact the community beyond feeding homeless persons and for education and personal growth based on interest and demand.
In 2020, while maneuvering through the pandemic, COVID-19, NCMC engaged with the homeless community by volunteering and determining an overwhelming need to support the Virginia Peninsula's homeless.
